The most special Ford Mustang Boss 302 of all time will go on sale at a price of $40,995 for the Boss 302 version and at $47,990 for the Laguna Seca version. Both versions will carry a 5.0 liter V8 engine that delivers 440 HP and 380 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission. The difference between the two versions will lie in the Laguna Seca’s missing rear seat, upgraded suspension, and killer aerodynamic package.
Now that all of the technical mumbo jumbo is out of the way, we have to say how excited we are that Ford was finally able to approve a model that was good enough to be called the Boss. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait another 40 years to experience another delectable version of the classic Mustang Boss 302. The 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 engine produces 280 lb.-ft. of off-the-line torque while delivering a first-ever combination of 305 horsepower and EPA-estimated 31 mpg hwy – the best fuel economy in its class.** The engine features state-of-art technology such as twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT), direct-acting mechanical buckets for smooth valve performance and a high-flow dual exhaust.

Meet the new series 2012 Mustang Boss 302 and the Boss 302 Laguna Seca for the race track. Both models feature the legendary Mustang 5.0 engine a 444-horsepower Hi-Po 302 V8 that redlines at 7,500 rpm. Other standard features include a "runner in the box" intake manifold and forged pistons, sodium-filled valves, valve springs, oil cooler and high-lift cams.
