2012 Lexus LFA

sportscar | lexus LFA |  The Toyota LF-A has made its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show. The production version of the LF-A concept will be renamed to the LFA where it will be the first-ever Lexus supercar. The LFA will go on sale during 2010 where it will rival other supercars, such as Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s.

The LFA is a thoroughbred supercar, a machine engineered to achieve a single goal – to deliver a supreme driving experience,” said Chief Engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi. “Over the past decade we have pushed every boundary in pursuit of this goal and I believe we have created the most driver-orientated car we possibly could.” the engine for the Lexus LFA will be a 4.8-litre V10 unit with 553-horsepower (412kW) and 480Nm of torque. Expect a 0-100km/h time of 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 325km/h. The V10 engine will be smaller than normal V8 engines, and it will send all of the power to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic sequential gearbox with four-selectable driving modes that include a seven-stage shift speed selector. The shift speed selector will result in upshift speeds set to 0.2 seconds.

Similar to other supercars, the body will be made with a lot of carbon-fibre. There will be a 4,505 mm length with a 1,480kg weight. There will be a weight distribution of 48:52 which should allow it to slide around corners, creating a lot of smoke — and putting on a good show, of course. The suspension will be a double-wishbone at the front with a multilink setup at the rear. Brakes will be sourced from Brembo and they will be made from carbon-ceramic.
