I knocked out one more concept ship with the 07 mark before 2008 hits. I've gained some pretty good control over the last year or so with my tablet... I hope to continue at this pace into 2008. Happy new year!

Okay...okay... This is not a concept ship. It is the ion cannon from The empire strikes back to shoot them down. Conceptcannons.blogspot? This is a taste of what direction my multimedia blog/zine is headed in. I've got some great stuff in store for conceptships.blogspot in 2008.

Starting January 1st 2008, conceptships is going to highlight the best sci-fi movies of our time who have produced the world's most influential concept ship art and designs.

It's going to be a retro look back at the best sci-fi ships that have paved the way for todays filmers and concept design artists compiled of rare photos and multimedia film loops along with a little commentary from me here at conceptships.blogspot.

I've put a lot of thought and effort into my compilation so please join conceptships starting January 1st highlighting the most influential spaceship design in movies/film and television.

Not sure who did this or what it's from. Has a Concorde supersonic transport feel to it with a hint of anime.

Any info on this piece of art would be appreciated.

A little dose of reality today...

Most self-respecting starships in science fiction stories use antimatter as fuel for a good reason – it’s the most potent fuel known. While tons of chemical fuel are needed to propel a human mission to Mars, just tens of milligrams of antimatter will do (a milligram is about one-thousandth the weight of a piece of the original M&M candy).

However, in reality this power comes with a price. Some antimatter reactions produce blasts of high energy gamma rays. Gamma rays are like X-rays on steroids. They penetrate matter and break apart molecules in cells, so they are not healthy to be around. High-energy gamma rays can also make the engines radioactive by fragmenting atoms of the engine material. Read the rest of the article RIGHT HERE!

Insane amount of concept ships on strangelet's Deviant art pages... Check 'em. Actually most all the them are renders. Not concepts. The models have been put together by different people not just stranj. Yet Stranj touched every ship at some point in its creation. Check out Angels Fall First Universe... Our teams site.

These two concept ship images come from a great Chinese concept artist by the name of Andrew Lee. There is more concept art on his website RIGHT HERE!

Andrew has a big digital sketchbook on conceptart.org.

This is a model of the Minerva, the protagonists' ship from the "Crusher Joe" anime movie series. Love the blue paint job on the front... Very Boeing concept looking.
